Job Description – Social Media & Activities Coordinator

Social Media, Onsite Activities, Cultural & Local Fun Coordinator

Kahana Falls Resort is looking for a part-time (~20 hrs/week) social media, onsite activities, and cultural and local fun coordinator. You will be working with a professional team at the resort and a virtual team driving our social media. The objective of this position is to engage the guests and owners through activities, contests, special deals, and cultural education and fun both in-person and online. At the same time, we want to build lasting relationships with local businesses and cultural organizations that are committed to the long-term well-being of Maui.

Specific actions would include:

  • Planning on-site activities that engage guests and owners
  • Cultivating relationships with local businesses to sponsor events and contests that will contribute to their business while providing guest interaction and online content
  • Seeking out culturally enriching and educational activities that will provide lasting memories for guests as well as interesting online content. We are seeking to focus on Hawaiian culture and traditions (e.g., Hula, tiki carving, lei making, dance, music, sports, etc…)
  • Being the Malama representative for Kahana Falls
  • Encouraging guests and owners to post pictures of their experiences and fond memories in order to spark interest in like-minded others
  • Your creativity and ingenuity will be critical to the success of the activities

Your partners will include the long-term staff at Kahana Falls who have a deep understanding of our owners and guests. You will also be working with a professional social media team who will be driving our new group, “I’m Dreaming of Maui.” This site is intended to encourage both those visiting the island and our owners and guests who are off the island to enjoy the beauties and adventures that can be found on Maui. One of our long-term goals is to attract a younger demographic who want to become owners at Kahana Falls. We expect to accomplish this by ensuring that people really engage while on the island and when they return home. This job is all about putting smiles on people’s faces and allowing them to share their experiences so others can follow suit. This is not a sales position or a concierge position. Nights and weekends may be required for some events.

Must-Have Requirements:

  • Have a good understanding of the local culture and experience in Maui
  • Enjoy connecting the local community to the visitors coming for vacation or a short stay
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in social media and specifically Facebook and Instagram
  • Proficiency in computer skills - both the Google and Microsoft product suite

Note: This position will report to an outside Social Media Vendor but pay will be processed by Kahana Falls.
