The Assistant Maintenance Manager will assist in the creations and maintenance of a clean, safe and well-ordered environment

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the safe and efficient maintenance of the resort through effective supervision of maintenance staff
  • Assist as required in solving complex maintenance problems, capable of rapid decision-making
  • Assist in the implementation of maintenance plans with consideration of budgetary constraints
  • Supervise overall activities of the maintenance staff as required
  • Training and monitoring development of all staff, assisting in appraisal of staff
  • Schedule and perform routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Complete work orders and daily projects reported by front desk and otherwise assigned during shift. Follow up on maintenance technician jobs to insure quality of work
  • Assist in assigning duties to all employees
  • Perform a variety of skilled work in the maintenance, repair and upkeep of resort buildings and units, including carpentry, plumbing, filter maintenance and light fixture maintenance
  • Maintain swimming pool
  • Coordinate or install, inspect, repair and maintain the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems
  • Coordinate or install, operate and maintain the heating, cooling and ventilation systems
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

General Statement - Performs the job assigned complying with Company policies and procedures, business code of ethics, FLSA regulations, and all applicable laws, as well as ensuring confidentiality, reliability, quality, and productivity.

Job Requirements

Education, Essential Training / Certifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience in supervisory-level resort maintenance role
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in building and facilities maintenance; and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification
  • Hazardous material handling training within six (6) months of hire date
  • One (1) year experience in the care, maintenance, and repair of large, commercial or public swimming pools and associated equipment and facilities.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Ability to perform maintenance duties such as plumbing, electrical, construction, appliance repairs, painting and pool maintenance
  • Be able to multi-task and handle all maintenance issues
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products
  • Always be neat in appearance with proper uniform required by company
  • Possess exceptional communication and leadership skills
