Our History
From our humble beginnings as a timeshare resort company, Capital Vacations has become a leader in independent resort management. Today, we serve more than 200 properties and nearly 400,000 Members and Owners across the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

2013
Capital Resorts is founded and launched as a vacation ownership club with 10 resorts.
North Myrtle Beach, SC Maritime Beach Club
2016
Capital Resorts acquires Defender Resorts, a professional timeshare management company, and SPM Resorts Holdings, expanding its portfolio of vacation ownership properties and adding resort management services to its list of offerings.
Hilton Head Island, SC Ocean View at Island Club
2018
Leading vacation ownership sales and management provider National Hospitality Group unifies its three brands — Capital Resorts, Defender Resorts, and SPM Resorts — and launches under the new name Capital Vacations.
Branson, MO Stormy Point Village
2019
Capital Vacations acquires Summer Winds Resorts, a vacation ownership developer based in Branson, Missouri, adding Stormy Point Village and Stormy Point Lakeside to its portfolio of properties.
Kissimmee, FL Calypso Cay Resort
2021
Capital Vacations acquires Calypso Cay Resort in the Kissimmee/Orlando, Florida, area, expanding travel opportunities for its Members in the world-renowned vacation destination.
Orlando, FLSilver Lake Resort
2022
Capital Vacations acquires Silver Lake Resort, an independent vacation ownership club and property management company in Orlando, Florida.
Capital Vacations launches Destinality℠, a member-based platform that allows Capital Vacations Club Members to use their points to pay for travel, making vacations more affordable and accessible than ever.
Capital Vacations expands its resort management portfolio and introduces travel service and exchange benefits with the acquisition of Vacation Resorts International Americas (VRIA), including Vacation Resorts International (VRI) and Trading Places International (TPI).

With the acquisition of Narveson Management, Inc., Capital Vacations adds 13 vacation ownership associations in Breezy Point, Minnesota, to its available travel options. Members can choose from a diverse collection of properties on the shores of Pelican Lake.
Myrtle Beach, SC Camelot By The Sea
2025
Capital Vacations acquires Camelot By the Sea in Myrtle Beach and Prince Resort in North Myrtle Beach, adding two more oceanfront properties to its long list of vacation options for Members visiting South Carolina’s Grand Strand.
